"According to the latest research and data, every year over 6.5 million dogs, cats, and other household pets are surrendered to animal shelters," says World Animal Foundation.
"Approximately 4.1 million shelter animals are adopted each year," according to ASPCA.
"Approximately 920,000 shelter animals are euthanized," adds @ASPCA.
"The number of euthanized animals could be reduced dramatically if more people adopted pets instead of buying them. When you adopt, you save a loving animal by making them part of your family and open up shelter space for another animal who might desperately need it," according to @humanesociety.

3-3-3 Rule
"The 3-3-3 rule is a set of guidelines for the first three days, three weeks, and three months after adopting a new dog," explains @humanesocietyofnorthtexas.
In general, it takes an adopted dog 3 DAYS to adjust to new surroundings.
It takes them about 3 WEEKS to bond.
And about 3 MONTHS to continue socializing and training.
